 We all love summer, that’s for sure, but we all dislike the insects it brings with it, especially the mosquitoes. They’re very annoying and prevent us from fully enjoying the pleasant summer days. What’s more, with the recent Zika virus epidemic, the reason to find a way to get rid of them is even more important.

Natural Bug Repellents

Lemon eucalyptus essential oil

This oil is extracted from the leaves of the lemon eucalyptus tree and numerous studies have shown its effectiveness at repelling mosquitoes.

Citronella essential oil

 This oil is extracted from lemon grass and it repels mosquitoes and other reviews on canadian online pharmacy flying insects with its strong scent.

Citrus fruits

According to a study, substances made from peels of citrus fruits were beneficial at repelling mosquitoes.

DIY MOSQUITO REPELLENT MASON JARS


When combined together, essential oils and citrus fruits make a very effective mosquito repellent. Here’s what you will need:

1- 2 mason jars
2- 10 drops of lemon eucalyptus essential oil
3- 10 drops of citronella essential oil
4- One lemon, sliced
5- One lime, sliced
6- 4 rosemary sprigs
7- Floating disc candles
Preparation: Add even amounts of lemon and lime slices to each jar and then put 2 sprigs of rosemary into each jar. Next, fill the jar with ¾ water and add 10 drops of the essential oils to a specific jar (don’t mix them). To activate them, just light a candle.
